Only in the South would stolen baked goods make headlines. Here's the latest on the supposed whereabouts of the world-famous “nun bun”. For those of you not from Nashville, the nun bun is a cinnamon roll that looks suspiciously like Mother Teresa. The bun was baked at Bongo Java, a local coffee shop 10 years ago and before a patron took a bite, they noticed the striking resemblance and notified the owner. Ever since, the “nun bun” as it was been dubbed, has been living a shellacked life in a case in the coffee shop for

tourists to admire…until Christmas day 2005, when the nun bun was kidnapped. Not surprising, panic broke out over her disappearance. The owners even offered a $5,000 reward for her safe return. Since then, they have actually received several letters from someone claiming to have her in a safe place, un-eaten (let's hope). Most recently, a photo was sent to the Tennessean of a person (who, oddly enough, looks a bit like Jesus) on the beach with the nun bun. Accompanying the photo was a letter postmarked from Seattle, claiming she “was in good hands”.
