Dayven recently received a letter letting him know that he was inducted into the Colorado School of Mines 2009 Athletics Hall of Fame for his sports achievements while in attendance. Each year, the CSM Department of Athletics inducts a new class into the Athletics Hall of Fame in an effort to recognize former Mines’ athletes who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics, either by performance in competition, significant achievement in sports or through their outstanding contributions on behalf of CSM Athletics. Dayven was 6 time All-American for track and field, still holds or shares 5 track records and was a two time letter winner for football (he played wide receiver). He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering. Click here for the full article.
Dayven is truly excited for the honor, one he shares with his friend Eric. They ran on the same 4 X 4 relay team. The above picture of them (used in the press release) cracked me up. Dayven looks so young. He's pretty sure it was taken freshman year.
I'm so proud of him and I know his mom would be thrilled to know he received this honor. In October, he'll go to Denver for the induction ceremony at the hall of fame banquet and give a speech. I'm sure there's no way we'll have the baby's passport in time so we won't be making the trek with him. He'll have more fun with a boys' weekend anyway.

what a stud - he does look young! Josh said he was really good at track, but I didn't know he was hall-of-fame material!
Congrats, Dayven!! What an impressive list of accomplishments. That is so exciting. We were to get a bilizzard today but it didn't happen, hurray!
