The puck drops here

Dayven and I took part in a favorite Canadian past time on Sunday night when we went to watch the Edmonton Oilers vs. the Calgary Flames with another couple. Attending a Canadian hockey game is unlike any sporting event in the U.S. The fans have undying devotion and the energy in the air is electric. They start the game with a rousing rendition of "Oh Canada", the national anthem and everyone sings along. When the Oilers score, the crowd goes wild and the sound is deafening. They're all decked out in their jerseys and foam puck hats...even the women. and don't even think of getting up for snacks or a bathroom break when the puck is in play.

In between periods, they have fun entertainment, like a kid's hockey game with the cutest 3 foot tall players you've ever seen and kids riding on the "Fanboni", a pimped out Zamboni, complete with spinner wheels and a plasma TV.
Even though the Flames were favored to win, the crowd chanting "Calgary Sucks!" over and over must have thrown them off their game. The Oilers played great and ended up winning 2 to 1.
