We’re trying hard to thicken up our blood like true Canadians and not let this cold weather stop us from getting out and having a little fun. This weekend, we bundled up and went down to check out “Ice on Whyte”, a popular festival themed around…well, ice. There were ice slides, ice sculpting contests, an ice castle and an outdoor movie theatre with ice benches and children’s
movies shown on an ice screen. We were told it’s all a bit more magical when lit up at night, but we figured it would be more pleasant to spend the day with a happy child, rather than risk running up against bedtime. We skipped the ice maze for fear of being trapped in the sub-zero frosty temps, but we explored the ice sculptures and even tried out a couple of the ice slides until we were
frozen solid. We ducked into the nearby Farmer's Market to thaw out a bit and picked up some organic free-range meat, veggies and homemade bread for dinner.
