The Charpia House has officially sold. My parents bought it ages ago as a rental property and lovingly restored it. They decided to name it after the Charpia family, who originally built it in 1914. It has housed many vacationers over the years. Because it is only a couple of hundred feet from the water, every hurricane season my parents wondered if this was the year their luck would run out.
They decided it was time to
eliminate the stress and pass it on to new owners. The University of Florida tennis coach and his wife
bought it as their weekend vacation house. My brother and I and our friends and guests have all stayed in it over the years. Hope it brings the new owners as many good memories as we’ve had.
