VRROOOOOOOOMM!

We got to experience our first Indy Race, courtesy or our friend Nate, who won weekend passes to the Honda Indy Race in Edmonton. He only had two passes, but he shared with us and we enjoyed the festivities in shifts. Dayven and Wyatt went Saturday afternoon. They had a blast watching the qualifying races, checking out the Hot Wheels car and the army tanks. Wyatt thought it was just like watching Lightening McQueen, complete with the jets racing overhead, just like in the Cars movie.
No race experience is complete without some greasy grub!

Nate and his son went Sunday morning and Nate's wife, Dorothy, and I headed back Sunday afternoon to soak up some rays and enjoy a cold brew. We hopped the city bus not far from our house and rode to the racetrack. It was the cleanest city bus we've ever been on (Chicago has nuthin' on you Edmonton!) and the perfect way to travel when imbibing on a couple of adult beverages. We were rooting for Danica Patrick, even though she didn't do that well. It was our first Indy race and we had a great time just people watching and hanging out.
Hot and sweaty in the stands, drinking Budweiser from a can...just like true race fans!
"It's not a motorcycle, it's a Chopper, baby!"
No, we're not Canadian, but it's still important to support the troops, right?
