Life is good

Yes, happiness abounds at our house. Wyatt is enjoying his barefoot freedom and is starting to realize that yes, his legs DO move independantly of one another. He's having a ball rolling around, kicking, flinging them up in the air and nibbling on his toes.

Dayven and I indulged our TV series addiction this weekend by starting season 5 of the series 24. We watched back-to-back episodes both nights over a bottle of wine. What will Jack Bauer get himself into next?? The suspense is almost too much.

We finally got some much needed rain. Nashville is in the middle of a drought and the rainfall is about 9 inches below normal. We've been watering like mad to keep our yard looking nice while the house is on the market. While the rest of the lawns in the area look like they may self combust at any moment, ours is a lovely shade of golf course green. Due to Dayven’s persistent watering, our water bill was a whopping $212 last month.

Dayven cooked us a scrumptious breakfast today - Cinnamon french toast, hash browns, fresh fruit, chilled 1% and roasted Colombian blend. Do I have the best husband or what?

The 2nd most exciting news this weekend (the 1st being Wyatt's emancipation from his shoes) is we have accepted an offer on our house! Our realtor has warned us that in this saturated market, houses are on the market 60-90 days on average before selling, but we received a nice offer after just 2 weeks! It was not a minute too soon. If you thought having your house for sale was stressful, try doing it with a baby. The stress factor is multiplied by 10. Every time we leave the house, I have to spend an extra 20 minutes making it look like no one lives here, when in fact, someone does live here. Three someones…and one of them has a lot of gear, toys and mess associated with him. The whole thing is quite invasive actually. Just leaving your house so that people can come and snoop around, making rude comments about your décor and personal selections. The most bizarre showing to date was coming home to find that Wyatt’s ride-on fire truck had been moved around. Please people – snoop through my closets, peek in my storage area, but my Pete’s sake, don’t play with my son’s toys. It’s just weird. Anyway, I have to think that good 'ol St. Joe may have had something to do with it by working his magic in the mulch. This week, I buried a St. Joseph statue in the yard under the advice of my friend Nancy, who is very knowledgeable on Catholic mojo. The Catholics believe that if you pray to St. Joseph, and then bury him in your yard, he will make sure your house is sold. It only took him 3 days. Thanks little buddy!

I hope your life is good too...
