A quick recap of some recent happenings around here...

I had the pleasure of accompanying Wyatt on his school field trip to the Charlotte Diamond concert. We got to ride the bus together which was fun. She is one of Wyatt's favorite artists. She sang all of our favorite songs and it was a real treat to see her live.
I also got to be the volunteer mom for Kindercooking day at Wyatt's school. It was rodeo day so we both wore our cowboy hats. We made chili with the kids. The teacher sent them into the kitchen in small groups and they helped assemble the ingredients while we talked about what we were making. Despite all the protests over the onions and green peppers, the kids all gobbled it up. I knew Wyatt would eat it because he's a great eater. The special ingredient? One third cup molasses!

It was Wyatt's turn to be "Star Student of the Week" last week. It's a special honor that each of the kids gets throughout the year. You get to be special helper at circle, leader in line and stand up and share 5 of your favorite things.  Wyatt brought a picture of an ipod with his favorite songs, a picture of Hadley, a Skylander character, a Star Wars book and of course, a box of macaroni and cheese!

Sweet little Tate is doing great. He's all smiles and it melts my heart. Hadley is constantly loving all over him and he eats it up. No one can make him smile bigger than she can. She loves to tickle him, talk to him and feed him. She even shushes him when he starts crying, saying "Shhhhh,..... shhh..... It's ok Tate. I'm right here...." in an even higher pitched voice than usual.

He got a "big boy" haircut this week and he desperately needed it. He seems to have inherited the same crazy cowlicks that Wyatt has. His hair has a mind of its own. He is so good for the stylist and doesn't flinch one bit, even when she's using the clippers. He looks more like Wyatt now than ever!
Hadley insists on having her toenails painted the exact same color as mine. If she notices I did mine and our toes no longer match, she is adamant that I repaint hers as well. She's my girly girl!

Everyone loves to play on the ipad with Daddy.

Dayven hit a deer on his way home from Fort Mac. He was fine thankfully but his truck didn't fare so well. It was hissing, smoking and definitely not drivable. He made the split second decision of whether to swerve and risk rolling in the ditch or just plow right through. He choose the latter and the deer jumped right into his grill. He had to drag the bloody carcass from the road. Luckily a coworker was not far behind so he could hitch a ride back to town while they towed his car.
He went to Calgary with his buddies from work to go fly fishing on the Bow River. It was a tradition they started last year and wanted to go once more with Dayven before we move. They didn't catch much - they use barbless hooks here which makes it pretty difficult - but they had a great time.

The kids have been having fun riding bikes around our street. We bought Hadley a new one with actual brakes and she's a little apprehensive. She is so excited to have a pink girly bike instead of her brother's hand me downs, but it's going to take her a little time to get comfortable with the bigger frame and the concept of brakes. I'm sure she'll be racing her brother before we know it!

Enjoyed all the pictures. Loved the little boy hair cut. He looks so cute with it. When is moving date?? I got to see Brendan yesterday, he's sitting alone and has learned hot to screem just for fun!He weighs 22 lbs. now. I can hardly lift him. In a week he'll bed 7 mos. He gets all over the floor but not crawling yet, only scooting and pushing.
