We had a great Father's Day Sunday together as a family, riding bikes and grilling out. Dayven is such an amazing father and husband. He's so hands on with the kids, playing with them and chasing them around the cul-de-sac. The kids couldn't ask for a better daddy!
Dayven was in Pittsburgh all last week in meetings and sorting out some details of our new life so he missed the festivities at Wyatt's school. I didn't want him to be the only kid without a parent there so I attended. I explained that Daddy couldn't come so we were going to make a special video for him. He said "Great! We'll put it on you tube!" This kid will look for any excuse to go on you tube. Anyway, it was a cute celebration. The kids sang three songs from the Charlotte Diamond concert complete with dog hats they made, then we all ate hot dogs and root beer together. Then we all headed to the gym for a special bike rodeo that one of the dads had set up. The kids each brought their bikes/helmets to school that day so they could join in the fun. Each child made their dad a gift and answered some "interview" questions about them. Apparently the best thing Dayven cooks is macaroni and cheese, just like me! If you're lucky maybe we'll share our secret recipe. ;) The teacher put up a slide of the kids responses when she asked what their dad does best. I had no trouble guessing Wyatt's contribution!
