In honor of the absolutely gorgeous weather we've been having, we decided to fire up the grill Saturday night and have a few friends over for a cookout.
Wyatt couldn't wait to see his friends. From the time he woke up from his nap, Josh and Brayden were all he could talk about. The kids had a ball and were going full throttle all night - playing in the playhouse, pushing the wagon, filling the fountain with rocks and sticks (every kid loves this!) and just running out all their energy. It was nonstop squeals and laughter, that seemed to escalate as the night went on. Finley was right in the middle of the action, running, chasing, fetching and occasionally stopping for a drink from the fountain. Shaelyn's willingness to enthusiastically throw sticks over and over makes her Finley's new best friend.

The adults had a great time as well. Everyone brought a dish to share to save me from doing all the cooking, which was great, so we had plenty of delectable goodies to eat. Dayven did burgers and dogs on the grill. He even experimented and tried ribs for the first time and they were delicious. After cooking for several hours, the meat just fell off the bones. Matt and Susan brought some of their homemade Pinot Grigio, which was really good (I had a tiny sip). It was fun to just sit and chat and soak up some nice weather. The boys even ended up doing a couple of shots later in the night.
We were all exhausted the next day, especially Finley, but the thought of Dayven's Sunday morning pancakes lured us out of bed.

Oh so bummed we missed it. Ribs sounded delicious! Can't wait to see you guys tomorrow:)
The bbq sounded great. Ribs are my favorite. Joni's husband makes them so good. when they are done he lets them rest in a brown paper sack. We took our grand daughter to lunch at Fridays. While there it Poured rain. When we got home found it had hailed here. The flowers look pittyful right now. Had an inch and half of rain.
