We started our Father's Day off right with Dayven's signature pancakes. I know, he shouldn't have to cook on Father's Day, but he's so good at pancakes and it's kind of our Sunday ritual. Then we headed to the Valley Zoo for a fun outing. We had tickets to see Bob the Builder and Barney Live. Dayven said "So....let me get this straight. Wyatt is taking me to see Bob the Builder for Father's day? Hmmm..." Exactly. It was our first kid "concert" so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

It turned out to be a pint-size version of Bonneroo, kind of like "Kidstock". Instead of tattoos and piercing booths, there were bubbles and face painting. Instead of beer and hemp stands, there were people selling cotton candy and ice cream. Instead of band T-shirts, there were Barney dolls for sale. If you looked around, you would see someone happily dancing by themselves on the grassy knoll (without the use of illegal substances) and little people swaying to the music and singing aloud, usually off-key. Other people had "spent all their fun tickets" as Dayven likes to say and were sleeping on blankets or in strollers. Wyatt had a ball (for a while, he was the one dancing on the grassy knoll). He clapped, squealed and danced when the characters hit the stage. I guess it isn't unlike seeing a celebrity in person.

Waiting for the show to begin...
Finally the big purple guy takes the stage!
Killing some time in between acts...
He inches his way closer to get a better look at the main event
Apparently Bob wasn't exciting enough for Daddy...
Despite their friendliness, Wyatt decided to opt out of getting a hug from Fifi or Fuzzbuzz.

Our little boy (52 yr.) treated his daddy to T-bone steaks on the grill at his house on the patio. It was a great meal and good time together with his grand children too. By the way, the middle grand daughter is now an RN. She is so happy. Passed her board on Friday.
