We're back from our trip to Denver. We had a great time with Karen and the weather was gorgeous. We took plenty of walks to soak up the sunshine and were even able to go swimming a couple of times. Dayven had a big convention in Las Vegas so he flew on after a few days, while Wyatt, Finley and I stayed in Denver to be with Karen. There were plenty of visits from family and friends and we enjoyed our time together, chatting, playing games and working on scrapbooks. We got a chance to catch one of cousin Donovan's soccer games. Wyatt didn't quite understand that he wasn't part of the team and he kept getting chased off the field. We even took an outing with Karen and her friend Debbie to the Denver Zoo. I shopped at all my favorite stores we don't have in Canada, got my fill of Whole Foods (the cashiers were actually starting to recognize me) and ate more Mexican food that any one person should be allowed to consume in a two week period. We headed up to Estes Park with two of Karen's friends, Mary and Kathy for a drive one morning. The Aspen trees were all changing to a beautiful golden color and we even saw some elk, napping in the sun. We ate lunch at the Stanley Hotel, famous for inspiring the book The Shining. Stephen King actually stayed there while we wrote the book and drew inspiration from the stories of the hotel's hauntings.
We had a wonderful visit and even got home in time to enjoy the nice Indian summer we're having. Dayven will be heading back in a couple of weeks and then we'll all fly back to spend Amercian Thanksgiving together.
