Summer is officially over. Well, it's been over for a month here but we've been holding out hope for an Indian Summer or at least a nice Chinook. No such luck. The air has that crisp cool feeling and the leaves are starting to change colors. We're determined to enjoy the fresh air as long as we can. We take walks and play in the yard everyday since we'll be cooped up inside soon enough. We still eat lunch outside everyday too, but that will end soon. We have two large apple trees in our backyard that have been raining apples. They're sweet and delicious. I'm not sure of the exact variety, but I'm guessing Gala. We've been eating them, making apple crisps and taking bags of them to neighbors. We still have more than we know what to do with. Wyatt and Finley both like to snack on them when they're outside playing. Rather than pick fresh ones, they prefer to munch on the bruised ones that are laying in the grass. Sometimes they each eat their own, sometimes they share. Wyatt nibbles on his a while, then throws it down for Finley to munch on, he laughs hysterically, dunks it in the fountain a few times, then continues eating it. No shame in his game!
Last time we were in Denver, we received a darling old metal wagon that Dayven's grandfather had when he was a child. It's in great
shape and we even took it on a quick spin down the street. It doesn't ride as smooth as our modern Radio Flyer, but it has so much more character and we love the idea that it's on it's 4th generation.

We're looking forward to spending more time with Karen. Let's hope the boys are well behaved in transit!

Yum Yum...those apples look good! You'll have to make some carmel apples for halloween! Can't believe how much bigger Wyatt looks from the last time we saw him!
Good luck with your trip back to Denver. Finley is adorable, as is Wy (of course!!!). Go Uncles!
Fall already. I feel like I just read your entry about the start of summer. Time flies.
ummm, John and Lisa never shared those apples. I'm gonna have to have a talk with them.
KEEP BELIEVING
The picture of the apples looks like a picture out of Taste of Home magazine. No worms either. I used to make caramel apples all the time when the kids were home. I loved them as much or more than they did. Now it is easier to buy it at the grocery store but not nearly as tasty.
