We're back from our whirlwind trip to Peoria. The trip there was a little rough with weather delays and missed connections, but we finally made it. As always, we had a great time and the week went by way too fast. We had something going on every day and night and could have stayed a
nother week and still not gotten it all in.

Now we nee
d
a vacation from the vacation! We stayed with my cousin Erin, who is currently renovating her house, and we took over because of course, we don't travel light! Wyatt fell in love with her bearded collie, Sylvia and followed her everywhere, although she was a little too fast for him. She quickly learned the best spot to be during mealtime is right under his high chair, where he could slip her a few morsels and they became fast friends. We had a ball hanging out with family and catching up. I did more than my fair share of shopping and even had to buy an extra suitcase to get it all home. Canadian customs is pretty strict and the dollar value of what you are allowed to bring back depends on the number of days you've been out of the country. I definitely exceeded my $200 allotted amount so I had to remove all tags and packaging to hide the evidence.

Friday night, we had a family dinner with the whole crew and Wyatt had a ball playing with big cousin, Holden, who brought him a new train set as an early Christmas present (another item that had to be smuggled back in the newly purchased suitcase). On Saturday night, we left the kiddos at home with babysitters and went out for dinner and drinks with my cousins and significant others. Such a treat!

Wyatt and I headed home on Sunday and Dayven stayed behind for a few more meetings this week in Peoria. The trip home was a breeze and Wyatt received several compliments on how well behaved he was on both flights. It was -19 degrees C (-2 degrees F) when we arrived and you could see your breath on the jet bridge when we deplaned. Even though I valet parked the car, it was freezing cold when we reached it. The bottled water and hand sanitizer I had left in the car had frozen into a solid chunk. Winter has officially arrived here! There's not going to be much of a break in the action for us. My parents arrive on Tuesday for a visit and we can't wait to see them!
