The husband and wife trucker team from Calgary have arrived in town with all of our worldly possessions. They made the trek from Nashville to Edmonton in just 3 days. They decided to take advantage of the weak U.S. dollar and cheap American prices and bought a car while they were there (a Ford F150), then loaded it into the truck with our stuff. Yes, it's a
big truck. The truck arrived on Saturday to unload. There were four people in all and things started ok, but as the day went on, people got more tired and careless and in a hurry to get done. A few pieces of furniture were scraped and there were a couple of other casualties - a platter, a clock and two flower pots - but that's all part of moving I guess. Dayven's boss's wife was kind enough to pick Wyatt

up to go for a walk and play over at her house. It's pretty chilly here so we bundled him up like the stay-puff marshmallow man and sent him on his way. When she returned him he was so exhausted he was sound asleep so we just left him to sleep in his stroller in the driveway. The truck finally rolled out about 4pm to head back to Calgary. Now, we're just working our way through the mounds of boxes. We're much more productive when Wyatt is asleep since he feels the need to "help" me with every box. The tricky part is figuring out where everything will go since the house is laid out so much differently than Nashville. After living out of suitcases and on the road for 3 weeks, it's so great to have our stuff back. This is only my second move with Caterpillar, but it's Dayven's fourth. I sure hope it gets easier as you get more seasoned. I'm feeling pretty uprooted and out of sorts right now, but I know eventually we'll get settled in and it will feel more like home.
