Better luck next time Broncos!

Dayven headed to NYC this past weekend with a buddy Eric to see the Broncos play in the Super bowl. Everyone knows by now this was not their year to win it. It was a pretty pitiful game actually, but that didn't stop him from having a good time. We didn't end up with tickets through our season tickets, but his friend had a connection in the organization and got them seats in the block with the players' families. They stayed downtown at the Marriott, the hotel where all the players stayed, attended a VIP brunch, went to the post-game party for the players and rode the players bus, bypassing all the security lines and crowds. It was definitely the way to go. He said being there live was a pretty amazing experience and the half time show was awesome. The town was more packed than usual and everyone was pretty pumped up for the game. They had fun trekking around the city, taking it all in. He said the Seahawks fans were jerks (Sorry Seattle) and they heard several snide comments when they had their jerseys on Saturday. They watched the Knicks play Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, which was quite a treat. There were plenty of celebrity sightings - David Beckham, Macklemore and Hugh Jackman, to name a few. Despite the Broncos' loss, it was still a great boys getaway weekend.

We managed to have an ok time without him over the weekend. We filled our days with errands, crafts and a lunch outing. The kids did mention him several times and ask when he was coming home. We all wore our orange proudly on Sunday in support of our team. Actually, Hadley wore PINK. Her old Tebow jersey. Hopefully that didn't have anything to do with the outcome of the game. Dayven is very superstitious about this stuff. We had a little pre-game dinner party at a friend's house before the game which made it feel a little more festive. We were all glad to see him when he got home Monday night and had fun checking out all the cool loot he got.

Daddy's HOME!
Still supporting our team. She's happy to have  PINK Manning shirt now.
The "mind control" hat with LED lights the crowd wore for the halftime show.
A little souvenir for Wyatt...
