...which is a bummer when you've got errands to run. It's cold and snowing, with howling wind and gusts up to 55 km/hour and it's only "Fall" here! Wy's been bundling up and wearing his new warm and woolly boots that Aniela got for him. Even still, we may not make it out today in this weather. Dayven was supposed to fly up to Fort McMurray today, but he's been delayed several times now for mechanical problems and weather so he's still in Edmonton.
I'm glad we got a chance to take advantage of our nice weather over the weekend. Dayven had Monday off and the weather was great. It was sunny with highs in the 40's. Isn't it funny how your perception of "great" weather changes when you move up north? We went for a nice long walk in the park near our house. This weekend, my brother Josh arrives for a visit and we're so excited to see him.The tile guy must have read Friday's blog post and felt guilty because he showed up to finish the task, apologizing profusely. You really have to see the "before" picture to appreciate the transformation the kitchen has taken. When we came here on our house hunting trip in July, the kitchen had pink Formica counter tops, pink accented back splash and matching pink mini-blinds. It was like someone had thrown up Pepto Bismol all over the kitchen. The landlord thankfully agreed to update it a little so it looks much better. He said he's planning to tile the floors as well, but considering how long the back splash took, I'm not going to get my hopes up.
The kitchen "before"...
The kitchen "after"...
