I took my special Valentines for a mini photo shoot session last week to get some special pictures taken. They weren't terribly cooperative - are they ever at photo shoots? - but it turned out great. When Wyatt gets nervous or uncomfortable, he rambles incessantly. The idea of the photo shoot had him so keyed up, he had verbal diarrhea. He could not stop talking when we first arrived. The photographer was so sweet. She said "Wow, does he always talk this much?" Um, yes, now start shooting before you lose your window. We told the kids they could have a special treat when they were done and we got enough cooperation for her to take the pictures. Hadley kept saying "CHEEEEEESE Miss Rita! CHEEEEESE Miss Rita!" like it was necessary to say her name every time. Amazingly, she was able to get some good shots, although none of all three kids together.
Wyatt had his Valentine's party at school today. He came home with a load of cards and treats and proudly showed us his loot. He even shared his treats with his sister.

The kids worked hard making me special Valentine's cards. Dayven took them to the store on his own and they picked them out. Hadley picked a teddy bear and Wyatt picked G.I. Joe, which was actually a birthday card, but whatever. Of course, he told me about them the instant they walked in the door, despite Dayven's reminder they were a surprise. That guy can't keep a secret to save his life. They were hard at work at the kitchen table coloring them when I got home from the gym and I was given strict orders not to come in the kitchen. Hadley worked hard making a special heart card for Dayven too. She picked out all the stickers herself and was very proud to explain the significance of each one - strawberries because she likes strawberry shortcake, a basket because she likes picnics, teddy bears because, well, you get the idea....

For having a bad photo shoot the pictures turned out great! I love that they are Valentines themed...so cute. The one of Wyatt squeezing Hadley is the best. And Tate in that basket! Oh so precious! We tried a photo shoot back around new years...disaster! Aniela's fake smile looked like she was constipated and Zoe cried the whole time. But I suppose, when later looking back at photos, those are the best pics because it was the reality of how things were at the time :-)
