The clouds parted and the rain storms have moved on, for the moment, so we decided to go pick some berries. It's Strawberry season and we have plenty of farms around us to choose from. We headed over to a U-pick close to our house, picked up some empty boxes and went to town. The berries are so sweet and juicy right now. We definitely ate more than we picked. The should have weighed us instead of our boxes. The kids were pretty into it, except for Tate who was tired and rode on my back. I periodically flung a berry back there to keep him quiet. We've already made muffins and eaten a bunch more. We still have berries out the wazoo. Looks like we'll be freezing them for smoothies. We're set for a while!

What an outing! The berries were perfect. Our last strawberry patch was in 1982. That was the yr. we added our family room on and the bine weed took the patch but not before I froze over 100 pints. Would you believe we are still eating them. They are just as good as the day we froze them. I mashed them a bit so they were juicy. Billy tells people we have strawberries old enough to vote!! We just got back from a wk. in Pigeon Forge, Tn. had a good time, saw lots of shows and weather was perfect. Spent a whole day at Dollywood. That is a place you should take the kids some time.
